Your board met July 28th to address concerns, ideas, and suggestions which emerged from the survey that we conducted.
First, let me thank the membership once again for your outstanding participation in the survey, and to share with you the changes we have instituted to address your concerns. As a result of your input:
Two of our next five meetings will be held at shows.
Our meeting in October will be held on October 14th at the Ramapo Show in Augusta New Jersey. The meeting will feature a program on “stewarding” featured by Ms. Joan Church. Anyone interested in becoming a steward is encouraged to attend. We will also have a short session for new exhibitors.
Our March 24th meeting will take place at the Edison shows at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison New Jersey. Details will follow closer to the date.
Our September 26th meeting will take place at the Chester Library at 7:00 PM.
We are exploring other possibilities for meeting sites and ask any member who would like to attend our meetings but finds in impractical to please contact their town library and inquire as to hosting our meetings. Generally, a resident of the town must request the reservation. We are open to all reasonable suggestions and help from the membership. Please remember our meetings are held the last Wednesday of the month.
Thanks to a change in AKC guidelines for meeting attendance, we are exploring the possibility of enabling remote access to our meetings via “Go To Meeting” or some other third-party access. This will enable many of you who do not enjoy or cannot drive at night the possibility of attending our meetings and sharing your input without the inconvenience of night driving.
We are also exploring ways of making our meetings more interesting to you, the members, with some programs in areas like grooming, health issues, earth dog, as well as attractions such as food and Chinese auctions. If you have any suggestions for programs, please forward them to any board member or directly to me: firstname.lastname@example.org and I will make sure we take them up at our next board meeting.
Also, please remember, if you can volunteer in any way, we need you to help us maintain our outstanding history as a club. Anything you can do will be recognized and truly appreciated.

GSATC's 23rd Garden Party was an outstanding success! 372 entries in 29 different breeds or varieties.
Last year I promised, "As incoming president of Garden State, I will employ all my Irish luck to try and make next year’s weather cooperate. Hope to see you all next year at a genuine “Garden Party.” My luck came through. Thanks all who helped make this event so great. Show Chair, Joan Murko and Assistant Show Chair Enid Wright did their usual spectacular job making sure the show went off smoothly and on schedule. Thanks to Trophy Chair, Leandra Little, for the beautiful awards. Finally, thanks to all the hardy exhibitors, contributors and volunteers without whom the show could not have gone on.
